We respect your privacy. Sound Like a Local does NOT sell, rent, or trade personal data. We
do not require accounts, passwords, or personal identity tracking to play.
2. Premium Subscriptions & Payments
If you choose to upgrade to Slang Premium (Pro), payment processing is securely handled by
Stripe. We do not store your credit card information. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled. You
can manage your subscription at any time via the Customer Portal linked in the app.
3. Refund Policy
We offer a hassle-free refund policy for Premium subscriptions. If you are unsatisfied, you can request a
refund within the first 7 days of your purchase by contacting our support team.
4. Analytics & AI Coach
We use standard analytics to measure aggregated page views and general performance. If you use the AI Slang
Coach (Premium feature), your conversation prompts are processed securely via our AI partners (e.g.
Anthropic/Google) purely to generate real-time feedback. These prompts are not stored or tied to your
identity.
5. Local Storage & Sync
Your streak count, completed quiz modules, and active language preferences are saved locally on your own
browser device via standard HTML5 localStorage. If you are a Premium user, you may generate a
secure Sync Token to transfer your local progress between devices.
6. Terms of Use & Educational Disclaimers
This app is provided for educational and cultural language learning purposes. Slang terms, sacres, and idioms
reflect authentic informal spoken street language. Slang Premium features (Mistake Mastery, Saved Favorites)
are provided "as-is" to enhance your cultural learning experience.
